This painting has a deeper meaning to me. Youth has its own charm and beauty but age has its own story to tell. The portrait depicts the story of ageing proudly carried by the women in each of her wrinkles, arthritis inflicted joints and depth of her gaze. Each piece of jewelry, her tiara seems to journey with her, ageing together and reflecting the woman she became.
